Vacuum and blower technology for the pharmaceutical and medical industry
At the dentist's, you never hear the vacuum pump, and that is exactly the point. During a treatment, vacuum must be available immediately, without the technology coming to the fore. The pump or central vacuum system is therefore often located in a separate technical room. DOVAC supplies the vacuum technology behind these applications: from the vacuum pump and buffer tank to the necessary components.
Where vacuum does the work
In the medical, dental technology and pharmaceutical sectors, vacuum is used for a wide range of processes. The application differs, but one requirement keeps coming back: the technology must function reliably and predictably.
- Treatment and operating rooms: suctioning fluids, blood and rinse water during a procedure
- Dental practices and maxillofacial surgery centres: chairside suction, often across several rooms at once
- Orthopaedics and prosthetics: vacuum forming of sockets and moulds
- Pharmaceutical production: vacuum for, among other things, mixing, processing, drying and packaging of products and raw materials
One system, multiple rooms
In a practice, private clinic or maxillofacial surgery centre, one central vacuum system can supply several treatment rooms with vacuum. Depending on the required capacity, such an installation consists of one or more vacuum pumps, a buffer tank and the associated control and protection components. Because the entire piping network is permanently under vacuum, all the practitioner has to do is press a pedal. The valve opens and suction is available immediately.

Vacuum that shapes the result: prosthetics
When making a prosthesis, vacuum is not a supporting factor but the decisive one for the end result. A plaster mould is first made of the residual limb. A heated, pliable plastic sheet is then formed over it and drawn completely against the plaster by suction. Only if this suction is applied evenly everywhere will the socket have exactly the shape the patient needs.
Both large and small vacuum systems are used for this. DOVAC supplies vacuum technology for smaller workshops as well as for larger orthopaedic production environments.
Vacuum in pharmaceutical production
In pharmaceutical production environments, vacuum can be part of a wide range of process steps, such as mixing, drying, dosing or packaging. The requirements here differ from those in a treatment room. Product contact, contamination, cleanability and the required vacuum quality can all help determine which pump technology and system configuration are suitable.
DOVAC therefore looks not only at the required capacity, but at the entire process. Dry vacuum technology, for example, can be of interest when oil vapours in the production area are undesirable.
Our possibilities

Vacuum systems
Instead of separate pumps, choose a central vacuum system serving several points. Multi-pump configurations modulate with demand and safeguard continuity, supplied complete with vessel and controls.

Claw vacuum pumps
Claw pumps run dry and without contact, with no wear and no oil in the gas stream. Ideal where product purity matters, with low maintenance for continuous use.

Vacuum pumps
Every process places its own demands on the vacuum, from a deep ultimate vacuum to dry operation. We supply the full spectrum and select the pump that fits best.
Benefits for your business
What really matters
A vacuum system in a practice or clinic is usually selected for long-term use. That is precisely why not only the purchase price and capacity matter, but also maintenance, operational reliability and the availability of spare parts. What makes the difference over that period is rarely the pump itself:
- Capacity that matches simultaneous use. A system sized for one room will fall short as soon as treatments take place in five rooms at once.
- Moisture in the system. If moisture can reach the pump, this must be taken into account when selecting and configuring the installation. Not every vacuum pump is suitable for this.
- Availability in the event of a fault. A vacuum system that is down means a practice that cannot treat patients, with a full appointment book that has to be rescheduled.
- Maintenance that gets postponed. If the filter and oil are not replaced annually, a small maintenance job turns into a major repair.
Which vacuum technology suits the application?
The right vacuum pump depends on the process. The required vacuum level and capacity play a role, but so do moisture, contamination, noise, running hours and the requirements of the environment.
Depending on the application, an oil-lubricated or dry vacuum pump may be chosen. In environments where oil vapours are undesirable or where specific process requirements apply, dry vacuum technology may be a suitable solution. DOVAC therefore looks at the application first and then selects the pump and system configuration that fit it.
Where possible, we keep systems practical and easy to maintain. Depending on the installation, routine maintenance can be carried out by your own technical department. DOVAC can provide instruction and remains available for maintenance, repair and technical support.
Our role within the installation
DOVAC supplies the vacuum section: the pumps, the buffer tank and the accessories. The piping, electrical work and building works are the responsibility of the party fitting out the space. We indicate which piping is required and where it needs to go.
That makes us a good partner above all for practices, private clinics, dental laboratories and maxillofacial surgery centres, where speed and short lines of communication weigh more heavily than a single all-encompassing contract. For piping, electrical and building work, the client usually works with an installer. DOVAC focuses on the vacuum technology and indicates the technical conditions required for the installation.
Why DOVAC
- Available 24/7 and quickly on site in the event of a fault, because a system that is down means a practice that is down
- Ample stock, so that a replacement does not have to take weeks
- Easy-to-maintain systems, with instruction for your own technical department
- Practical advice based on the application: no unnecessarily complex installation, but vacuum technology that fits the process and the required capacity

Are you setting up a new practice or clinic, or is your current vacuum system due for replacement? Contact DOVAC for advice on the set-up, a calculation of the required capacity or a proposal for maintaining your existing installation.
Why choose DOVAC?
A large stock of our own, available immediately
A product is no use if it arrives in eight weeks. That's why DOVAC keeps a large stock of its own, including filters, valves and maintenance kits.
Demonstrated first, delivered second
DOVAC demonstrates and tests on site to prove the right solution in advance.
For existing installations too
For existing installations, DOVAC supplies maintenance and alternatives, starting from the application.
We start with your application, not with a product
DOVAC starts with the application: material, dimensions and performance determine the system.
