Waste Processing
A waste processing plant combines heat, water, steam and aggressive gases. That places high demands on everything that moves air there. DOVAC supplies turbo blowers, air knives and air cannons to help steer steam and vapours towards an extraction point. We also supply blowers and aerators for the treatment of wastewater.
Steering steam and vapours in one direction
In a waste incineration plant, waste is burned at high temperatures. The pulverised residue falls into a water bath at the end of the furnace to cool down, after which a steel conveyor belt carries it back up. This produces large amounts of steam and vapours which, without countermeasures, spread throughout the entire building.
Combined with a blower, an air knife creates a directed airflow that helps move the steam and vapours towards the extraction point. DOVAC focuses on the blowing side of the process: the airflow that steers the vapours in the right direction.
Aeration of wastewater
Waste processing can generate wastewater that must be treated before it is processed further or discharged. Aeration supports biological treatment by adding oxygen to the water. This allows aerobic bacteria to break down organic contamination.
For this purpose DOVAC supplies aerators combined with blowers or energy-efficient turbo blowers. By matching the air capacity and pressure to the water depth and the oxygen demand of the process, unnecessary energy consumption can be avoided.

What matters in an aggressive environment
Waste processing is a harsh environment for air technology. Make the wrong choices there and you face corrosion, malfunctions and an installation that does not do its job. The main points to consider are:
- Choice of material. Moisture and aggressive gases can attack materials. Depending on the substances present and the process conditions, stainless steel air knives can be a suitable solution.
- Placement of the blower. A blower blows out what it draws in. If you place it in a room with aggressive gases, you spread those gases further through the process and put extra strain on the blower itself.
- Filtration. Draw in as much clean air as possible. A suitable intake filter protects the blower from dust and other particles. Against aggressive gases, the right location for the air intake is what matters most.
- Temperature. High temperatures can occur close to the furnace. By installing the blower and the air knife in the right place, the thermal load can be limited. The maximum permitted temperature depends on the selected version.
These installations also often run continuously, so energy consumption weighs heavily in the total cost. A blower that draws more power than necessary quickly costs more over the lifetime of the installation than its purchase price.
Our possibilities

Stainless steel air knives
Stainless steel air knives are corrosion-resistant and hygienic, for environments where aluminium falls short: aggressive gases, a lot of moisture or strict hygiene requirements. They dry, cool and blow clean with an even airflow across the full length.

Galex Air
The Galex Air Axion One is a compact, energy-efficient turbo blower for air knives, drying processes and the aeration of basins and baths. An integrated frequency controller precisely matches the air capacity to your application.

Air gun
The air gun is the portable counterpart to the air knife, for spot blow-off of moisture or dust where a fixed installation isn't practical. Fed by a blower instead of compressed air, it uses far less energy and runs quieter.
Benefits for your business
What it delivers
- Steam and vapours that are guided towards the extraction point instead of spreading through the entire building
- Possible energy savings thanks to a more efficient turbo blower matched to the required air capacity and pressure
- Stainless steel air knives selected for the conditions and substances present in your installation
- A solution that has been demonstrated on site before you invest
A lot of airflow with limited power
The turbo blowers DOVAC offers, the Galex Air Axion One and the Master Blower, were developed by engineers with a background in the automotive industry. The design of the impeller, the component that sets the air in motion, makes it possible to create a large airflow with little power. As a result, these turbo blowers can combine a large airflow with efficient energy consumption in a suitable application.
Combined with stainless steel air knives, or an air cannon where a fixed set-up does not fit, DOVAC supplies the complete installation: blower, air knife, hoses, clamps and intake filters. Because waste processors make their decisions carefully, DOVAC first demonstrates the solution on site.
Available 24/7
If a blower fails, DOVAC is available 24/7. Thanks to short lines of communication and our extensive stock, we can often respond quickly to faults and supply parts or replacement equipment.
